About me
Eight years ago, Christine became very passionate about learning about the science of reading, how the brain learns to read, and dyslexia when her nephew was diagnosed with dyslexia. Since his diagnosis, it has been Christine's passion to help all students learn to read. Literacy-specific professional development that Christine has completed includes Orton Gillingham Training, The Reading Teacher's Top Ten Tools, How To Teach Reading And Spelling, and The Right To Read training. Christine is currently finishing up a Science of Reading Master's Degree through MSJ University in Cincinnati. Her final thesis is in the area of phonemic awareness. In 2021, Christine worked as part of RDPSD's Literacy Recovery Team. Christine's current teaching assignment is grade one and literacy intervention at Mountview School.
