AI Explorations for Educators

This session provides teachers with a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications for the future of education. Designed for those with little to no technical background, AI Explorations for Educators offers a clear and practical overview of AI concepts, terminology, and real-world applications in educational contexts. The session will also address critical issues such as AI ethics, privacy, and equitable access to AI technologies.

As a result of participating in this session, teachers will have the opportunity to access digital learning kits designed by one of Canada’s leading AI institutes. Teachers will also increase their AI literacy, empowering them to integrate AI tools effectively into their teaching practices and make informed decisions about AI use in their classrooms.

This is an interactive session and participants are encouraged to bring an electronic device. K - 6 teachers in Alberta have access to Gizmos through a subscription provided by Alberta Education.
