This session offers an opportunity to gain understanding about the cross-curricular potential of the Alberta K-6 Physical Education and Wellness curriculum. We will explore strategies to integrate Physical Education and Wellness with other subject areas (e.g., Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) during PE/Wellness lessons, as well as during the other core subject areas. We will provide insight into developing actionable lesson ideas that promote holistic student development, including the obvious value of integrating movement across the curriculum.
This session explores Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory and how it applies to literacy instruction. Teachers will gain hands-on, evidence-based strategies to enhance students' foundational reading and writing skills. The workshop provides practical tools and free resources for small-group reading support or individualized programs. Attendees will leave with actionable techniques backed by the latest science of reading research that can be seamlessly integrated into any literacy lesson.
