Effectively Addressing Social Issues to Foster Positive Outcomes for Students
Friday April 4, 2025 8:30am - 9:45am MDT
In today’s diverse and ever-evolving educational landscape, students often face complex social challenges that impact their well-being, academic success, and personal growth. This workshop equips educators, school leaders, and student support staff with practical strategies to address social issues effectively, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive.

Central to this workshop is the concept of the collective belief of teachers in their ability to positively affect students, which serves as a foundation for driving meaningful change. Participants will explore how this shared confidence can be leveraged to address challenges such as bullying, mental health concerns, family dynamics, and cultural or socio-economic disparities.

Through interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities, attendees will learn to:

Identify early warning signs of social issues affecting students.
Develop proactive intervention strategies to support students’ social and emotional needs.
Harness the power of collective teacher efficacy to create a unified and impactful support system.
Foster resilience, empathy, and a sense of belonging within the school community.
Measure and sustain positive outcomes through data-driven approaches and continuous reflection.
By the end of this workshop, participants will leave equipped with actionable tools and a deeper understanding of how to empower students to overcome challenges and achieve their fullest potential.

Join us to transform your approach to social issues and become a catalyst for positive change in students’ lives.

Leveraging Self-Efficacy to Build Resiliency in Students
Friday April 4, 2025 10:15am - 11:30am MDT
Empowering students with the confidence to take on challenges and persevere in the face of setbacks is critical for their academic and personal growth. This workshop explores the foundational role of self-efficacy in fostering resilience in students, helping them overcome obstacles and thrive in their educational journeys.

Drawing on insights from educational research, including John Hattie’s statement that "self-efficacy is the belief that one’s actions are the primary determinant of outcomes," this workshop will provide educators with actionable strategies to cultivate a culture of self-belief in their classrooms. Participants will:

Examine the relationship between self-efficacy, motivation, and resilience.
Learn practical techniques to support students in developing a growth mindset.
Explore tools for providing feedback that builds confidence and encourages perseverance.
Identify ways to create an environment where students feel capable, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Join us for this interactive session to deepen your understanding of self-efficacy and walk away with strategies that inspire resilience in all students, regardless of their starting point.
