Navigating the New Social Studies Curriculum with ArcGIS Online

An engaging and practical session designed for elementary teachers looking for resources and tools to support the new K-6 Social Studies curriculum. This workshop provides an introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and ArcGIS Online, showcasing how these powerful tools can enhance teaching and learning in your classroom.

Participants will explore how to access ArcGIS Online, discover applications that are available, and learn the basics of using the online Map Viewer. We will highlight curriculum-aligned resources that support inquiry-based learning and geographic exploration, with a specific focus on the new K-6 Social Studies outcomes. By the end of the session, teachers will feel confident in using ArcGIS Online to foster geographic thinking and student engagement in their classrooms.
